Dan, rubbing alcohol on lint free wipes. As for a diagram, it's all pretty logical.
Roger, I would have charged myself $80 to do what I did to that tach. I didn't rechrome anything and I can't deal with yellowed plastic inserts unless there is a big outcry for me to get some made, but if it's just cleaning and functional repair, no problem, send me a picture and I'll tell you what I think.
