Same requirements for our regular competition. Check the competition code at www.arosc.org.
All that's required for Time Trial is a 5 point harness on a teched street legal car. If it's open, I believe it has to have a roll bar 2" (min) above your helmet. They may accept a manufacturers certified roll protection on some new cars, but you should check with Paul Ellis.
If you suck up to the right people, you may even get some instruction from an instructor who drove Formula 1 for Ferrari or one who successfully guided Nissan to a number of Driver and Manufacturers Championships (9 combined I believe).
