Calcianu seems to bought the ex nuvolari car without engine in milan .. It HAS To be sf30.. Stu, the car in the picture is a mercedes w154 or w163 without wings in which romanian driver, roman crashed in, probably, that race. . 2 gp mercedes and a duesenberg were liberated off a train bound for moscow in bukarest . A monza alfa was also on that train.. No mention of gt anywhere after this. . Antoine raffaelis superb "memoirs of a bugatti hunter" mentions this and there Has been some discussion about the gp mercedes on atlasf1 but totally forgetting calcianu .. Who had a bmw 328, a maserati and a duesy after the war.. The duesy is in bukarests technical museum, one of the gp mercs as well. The w163 i dont know.. The mas and the monza are gone.. But SF30 WAS on that train... There is stuff for a book here.. Plane ticket to romania next..
