The front spindle diameter and rear hub diameter on your car are different, the factory wheels didn't come with rings and weren't hubcentric or at least not on all 4 corners at once anyway. Why raise it as a concern now after all these decades of thousands of GTVs and spiders working fine without it? As long as the wheel fits nice and flat on the hub faces and the lug nuts engage properly, it really shouldn't be a thing.
Regarding the wheels you aquired: just what era Mustang are you talking about?
The only ones I recall off hand that weren't 5 bolt pattern and would have the proper 4 bolt pattern would be from around mid 1970's through mid 1980's. (I belive the 'fox body' era of thier cars would also fall into that spec, but due to front wheel drive, the offset is likely too much)
