Regarding MAP sensor vs. TPS: I'm in the process of installing a system from
Simple Digital Systems EM-4 on my 1.7l 16V boxer. It uses throttle bodies and the initial setup wouldn't work correctly due to dramatically fluctuating vacuum. Their recommendation was to add a cylinder of air as big as a coke can for all 4 vacuum lines to terminate at in order to smooth out the vacuum.
Will this even work? Or is the 16V boxer impossible to get steady vacuum? I know it's possible to go to a TPS system but I've been told this can be a good idea for a race car, but lousy on the street, particularly at low rpm.
Any ideas??
