A warning - watch the looped ends of this spring - I found that when I replaced the indicator stalk on my '77 Spider, installing spring per above methods (several wraps around roughed-up steering column) that I must have left the open ends of these loops sticking out slightly - After time, they came into contact with the live indicator contacts, which live nearby, creating a nice cloud of acrid smoke from the column shroud as I sat at an intersection !! Spring must have been well-hot, as it streched, distorted and changed colour !! I took the damn thing off, and now cancel them myself. One less electrical thing for me to worry about !
