Monterey Historics - Sunday
Thanks, guys, for posting racing photos from Saturday. I was there on Sunday only, wanting to see Giuliettas and GTAs overload the racetrack (9 GTAs, but not so many Giuliettas). Following are my photos for Sunday, the first few of the "Alfa Alley". You locals will probably see your cars, and also locate the Rimiccis' #33 white GTA Stradale.
It was a great thrill watching Fabrizio haunt Heather Mozart's #20 GTA (red white fascia), but then Fab dropped back - don't know what happened.
Another great battle was that between Jeff Hill's SZ Coda Tronca and a Ferrari 250GT SWB - Jeff eventually passed the Ferrari - there's a series of Jeff chasing the Ferrari through Turn 4, just in front of the second set of bleachers.
You'll notice that all my race photos are shot from Turn 4. After many years of watching Laguna Seca races, I think T4 is the best place to watch these cars handle, spin out, and drivers wave at spectators when they're done. Enjoy this last set of my photos from this wonderful weekend - it was a pleasure posting them for folks who couldn't make it out to these great events.
One last thing: Ralph Lauren's (of Polo Ralph Lauren fame) blindingly-red 8C2900B was on display in the tent - as gorgeous as the Pebble Beach winner, but in a different way.
As usual, I'll add a separate link to my Picasa album where all and additional photos can be seen in higher resolution/larger format.
