If your eye draws down from the bottom side of the ring at the neckline, through the center of the cleavage, down to the "V" in the material, you will note that it is noticeably off-center. With a rounded surface or the center median area of a squared surface it would not be noticeable, but a "V" configuration is very hard to disguise it, if it's not perfect. Further, look at the right side as compared to the left side as far as material coverage, which also shows the disparity in centering. Her head is slightly turned, but her shoulders are level and not turned noticeably.

I believe you have a valid point.
I, myself, have dedicated many hours to studying this photo. Despite all my efforts and eye strain I have failed to quantify exactly what it is that attracts me to it. It's not the centering of the cleavage nor the size of the rounded surfaces ... perhaps it's that disparity in centering?
I have come to one conclusion regarding it, like the Mona Lisa: it is alluring.
