I'd recommend supercharger, once you have the $$$

I have almost $30K invested in my autocross car, not counting many, many hours of my labor. Of that, almost $12K was for the engine and engine mods (had to document all this for Hagerty Collector Car theft/fire/loss coverage).

You could go with fewer mods than I have and still have a potent car, but I'm figuring you'd be hard-pressed to stay below $5000, assuming your present engine is fresh.

Horsepower isn't cheap, or everybody would have more!

The previous comments are right on...how will the car be used? My car at one time had S-cams and S-pistons, headers, Zat modified ECU, and Zat AFM. While that was OK until the ECU crapped out, it would have been better with a modern system such as the Haltech E6X I'm presently running. Still, just that feature, with the supporting components, would eat up your $1500.
