The paint will stay like that for a while... Dad had the stripe put on in 1970 or so (for safety reasons, makes the car more visible) .

Your Sprint Speciale project looks suspiciously like one I spotted on line for sale some time last year. I mentioned it on line somewhere (perhaps here) and someone emailed me for the link. Was that you?
