re: A few time trial questions

George,
Safety Harness:
All driver restraint systems should meet S.F.I. Specifications 16.1 and shall bear "SFI Spec 16.1 Label" no more than ten (10) years old.
It is recommended that driver restraint systems be replaced every three (3) to five (5) years. Not all manufacturers are dating every belt in a set. They may be dating only one seat belt and shoulder strap or only one strap of the set. The restraint system needs only one (1) date label.

Forward braces and portions of the roll bar hoop subject to contact by the driver's helmet (as seated normally and restrained by his/her restraint system) must be padded with a protective padding of non-resilient material
such as Ethafoam or Ensolite or other similar material with a minimum thickness of ½". The operative phrase here is "subject to contact by the driver's helmet (as seated normally and restrained by his/her restraint system)". If your seat design prevents helmet contact with the roll bar, then that should be sufficient.

An inspection hole is not required, but is preferred.
