Drained 3.5l of filthy, black, not very slippery tranny fluid (not burnt smelling though). Poured in some Shell Dexron III on special at your local friendly K-Mart.
Test drive reveals: still busted.
What's my next step? I'm thinking that I will drain the fluid again, pull the filter out of the bottom and pop the top off to have a look at the easily reachable pieces as detailed further up in the thread. However, I think this transmission is stuffed and I'll need to source another one or rebuild it.
The craziest thought that went through my head was to yank the engine, buy a broken GTV6 and build a 3.0l road rocket, but I like this car too much. Anyone got a second hand tranny in oz they want to sell for cheap?
