SD, you're the first to mention that you have IAP's bearings on your car. I pretty much agree with you in that how does one really know? Do you recall the brand name/initials?
Just having new bearings installed has to be better than older well worn bearings. My thinking went like this: Almost everyone said that the available lower ball joint for the front suspension on Alfetta's (possibly also GTV6's) was junk. That Lemfordor's were the only quality ones available. So I went to a lot of trouble to get Lemfordor's when I completely went through my front suspension.
No one has said IAP's rear wheel bearings are junk, but until now, no one has said they are even 'okay'. Both of these 'projects' - ball joints/rear wheel bearings - are less than fun and I want to do it once and forget about it, thus my search for 'card carrying' quality bearings. FAG's definitely come up as being of high quality.
