It's a crap shoot. When I bought the GTV in '92 I drove it from Arcata CA (north coast of CA) to my home in MN. Nearly all on two lanes including going up and over Independance Pass outside of Aspen. The only mishap was a blown muffler and a hood release cable.
The GTV's been completely rebuilt now and I would take the car across the country (USA) in a heart beat. I would not however count on nothing breaking. It's a maybe, maybe not kind of thing as far as what might or might not break.
