I'd do that too, but what shall I do with the convertible top? Simply fold it down and place the hardtop over it? I don't want to keep the top folded for months, especially the rear window screen (I think you'r supposed to keep it erected whenever possible). Or remove the convertible top completly? That's no small job... Besides here, winter brings rain / snow too and my mechanic says I should avoid driving in cold, wet conditions; it's bad for the car body. (He says that old steel "sucks up" water.) So my hardtop just sits in the garage.
