I too have looked into using acetone in my fuel tank a couple of years ago for my MINI. It will not destroy any seals and will burn just fine, but it will not increase mileage. To keep your fuel system clean you should be using a Top Tier gasoline. It has more detergents than Johnny-No-Name down the street.
