Steve - I believe that Bandman's car is a '91 US version 'L'. What is your advice?

Does car have recall filler - male threads on cap so it fits into filler neck. Should be a Recall 96V-140 decal on inside of fuel filler access door.
If not check for rusted clamp and leak in wheel well where filler attaches to rubber filler hose.
Also check for properly hooked up filler vent tube in wheel well.
If fuel pump has been removed for hose repair check for sealing washers on tank cover bolts (USA steel tank models). You must remove front carpet from trunk to see top of tank and gas line plumbing. You must pull white plastic pop fastners out of ski boot surround to remove front carpet.
Vent cannister under rear speaker has tubing and vent check valve that needs to be checked too.
There is a two piece plastic cover over top of tank access opening in trunk floor.
