If they're cast Aluminum (and not pot metal)...and you're going to go the full nine yards on restoring these....I would have them anodized (after repair), epoxy primed and epoxy or urethane painted to the original colour. In the aircraft industry, this is more or less a standard coating application. Now alternatively you could get have them powder coated...but I'm not as familiar with this system on Aluminum parts.
