For "Giulietta Day 2008", rather than get out and drive for 200+ miles of twisties in five hours, immensely tiring ourselves as in past Jaunts, we will instead hold a “car show” during the first part of the morning, then go on a leisurely 2-hour drive to a lunch spot on the Coast, calling it a day. We're not as young as we used to be, I’ve been cautioned.
Having a car show gives us a chance to slowly rouse from our slumbers Sunday morning, slurp coffee, gawk at other people's cars, and finally decide that one's own is still better screwed together. All joking aside, it's a great way for local Giuliettisti to become better acquainted with each other, and to hopefully receive/offer advice on all matters Giulietta. We also welcome folks from outside the Bay Area to attend, of course.
This will be followed by a 2-hour jaunt on local roads of interest to exercise the cars and our biceps, and to give the drivers/navigators a semblance of a tan - characteristic of the California gentleman/lady Italian sports car driver.
The last stop will be lunch break at a cafe/deli of my spontaneous choice on the Coast, before we head home northward through parts of Soquel and Los Gatos.
Please note that this is a "Giulietta" event, and only such cars are invited to attend; specifically, all 750 and 101 Alfas are welcomed, from concourse winners to rust buckets that are able to cover ground under their own power, however slowly.
