What Mazak?
Brass is durable, takes and holds plating well.
But like Mazak it's heavy. Although 4 hinges don't break the scales, when you add all handles and other trim items they do add up to several Kg's. Not the way to make an "Allegrita".
Those hinges would easily be cut by a CNC mill. But if casting them, I'd rather use aluminum. In either case I'd leave the polishing to the plater's. A shoddy looking plating job is usually caused by bad polishing.
