Thanks, Simon. I'm not getting any pop-up messages, the only time I log-off is if my connection drops and then AIM automatically relogs when the connection reconnects; in other words, my computer is on 24/7. It's the relogging that activates this file and I can tell by the performance delay, so I open my task manager and shut the file down. I do have an AOL account and use AIM IM with no problem with this file stopped.

If it's a virus why isn't Norton identifying it as a virus? I run Norton more than once a week as far as full system virus scans and it has discovered a couple of trojans and killed them that I didn't even realize had loaded as far as noting performance issues.

I've had some odd things occur as far as gibberish on previous computers because of the VRS that I run.
