Well, I'm a US resident but go abroad frequently and one of my friends has a 2000 166 3.0V6 Sportronic as well (silver in colour, very nice). He, too, likes the 'face' of the 2004 166 and thought about converting.
It was immediately apparent that the front fenders/wings will need to be changed because the headlights are not the same. Then, there's the hood/bonnet that will need to be changed as well. We're not sure, but we think the bumper may need to change, too, because the grill is slightly different between the two model years.
This is just the externally visible pieces that we can immediately see. I think once you start changing headlights, there are parts in the engine bay that may have to either move or be replaced in order to 'fit' another 2004 part.
