Converted to R134a
Well, nice day for it so I removed hoses, condensor, etc today and purged evaporator, condensor, and hoses with a/c cleaning solution and compressed air, Replaced expansion valve, receiver dryer and removed old R12 valve cores and installed NAPA R134a low and high pressure adapters.
I had already replaced compressor with a good one that had new shaft seal, clutch pulley bearing, and 6oz of ester oil.
Installed new green orings on fittings and hooked up everything, pulled vacumn on system. Then I charged sytems with 4 cans of freon and one can of dye. I got 35F air out of dash and proper low and high side pressures. so it looks like system a go for summer ahead.
