(modelplate is missing and I was told it was an interim car, 101 chassis with giuletta specs, assempled in SA.) Not sure thoug. original engine was not with the car, but it has giulietta hood/bonnet.

My former 370075 was an interim car. It had the Giulietta hood, a glove box door, and twin shoe (1300) brakes at the front. It didn't have a model plate eitheror any traces of the 1600 badge on the trunk lid.

At the time I didn't know what this mix was, so I inquired around. Tom Zat said he knew what this was: a batch of 1000 1300 Spiders made at Max Hoffman's request for the US market - maybe with leftover 1300 drivetrains (this sounds dubious, as Alfa still made the Giulietta ti). Alfa's Centro Storico confirmed 370075 to have been a Giulietta Spider built on 16/2/1962 anddelivered to Alfa USA (Hoffman not being involved with Alfas anymore by that time).

In Fusi, the serial numbers between 370001 and 371096 are listed as 101.23 1600 Spiders. But on the next line, more 101.23 Spiders are listed strating at 372001...

More recently, another interim car ended up in Montreal. This one was very original, with original paint, etc. I don't remember the serial number but it was a few hundred numbers above mine - say 370XXX like yours.

370208 and 370011 are both listed here as Giulietta Spiders, and both are now in North America. We'll see if some more of these 370XXX pop up on this register.
