For my project, I see a 'frame stiffiner' as the next step. The suspension is basicly stock save Konis and I plan to install the suspension stiffiner and possibly some poly or PTFB (teflon) bushings next - this should give me a more stable starting point for other mods. I really think the FS is one of the most cost effective things you can do, and that it should be done first in order to get as much body flex out of the mix as possible.
I have never had any real problems with the Alfa trans. beyond the syncros needing replaced on some hi milage/poorly driven cars. Of course if you plan on much greater than stock torque/horsepower you will want to look into stronger drivetrain components.
