Over the last 15 years or so,I only use V6 de-dion bushes in 4 cyl + V6 cars.
Yes,they are bigger, and tougher, and can be fitted with the special tool only.
Some people fit the V6 bush by chamfering one end and jamming it in,but using the tool makes the job perfect.
Guess many years ago,I got upset at fitting about 6 standard 4cyl bushes in my customers car.(he ended up becoming my father in-law.)
Hated stalking the top plate, and sometimes i had to weld the top plate (tacked).
Then I started seeing his daughter.
Went to her house and found that 20+ speed humps had to be driven over to get there.Speed humps that he didnt slow down for.Bushes failed(noisy).
Did some research and found that a V6 bush will fit.
Once the V6 bush was fitted to his car,4+ years later, never needed to be replaced. And his daughter married me.
Hey,There are a lot of opinions on this subject, which are most welcome.
I put V6 de-dion bushes in 4 cyl race cars and road cars and never had to replace any.
I put them in customers cars, and never replaced any.
OK,There are other bushes that can be installed (poly,,Rose joints etc),but since I have never had any problems with the V6 bush,Ill keep using them, and fitting them with the special tool(genuine Alfa tool)

This is just an opinion from an Alfa Romeo specialist that hates doing things twice.Once fitted, its forgotten about, especially the noise a worn bush creates.
More suggestions welcome.
By the way,we are never too old to learn something new or dooing something better.Im willing to always learn new things,as long as they dont cost too much.
I find the BB great reading etc,so keep the posts comming.
