Started on the fuel tank. Cut it to fit in the rear most of the trunk.
I then bent and cut a piece of stainless sheet metal to have welded
on. Got it back form the welding shop (I did not trust my skills enough
for this job). Filled it with water to clean and check for leaks, and
of course found two small ones. I welded these shut. I'm sure if I
did the whole job, I would have had many more leaks. I added a nut
to the front for mounting. The front will bolt directly to the top self
of the Alfa's trunk. Three 10mm bolts should suffice?
A little paint, and some undercoating to clean it all up. Will post more
when I finish mounting it.
