Asbestos ?

When I did this: Alfetta Sill Cut

I found what I'm certain is asbestos between the handbrake lever bracket and the transmission tunnel. I guess its a heat insulator.

I believe the headlining insulation is just fabric, though the tar floor insulation could well have asbestos through it. At least the tar keeps the stuff encapsulated.

The handbrake insulation was decidedly frangible so BE CAREFUL !!! If you can, leave it in place and apply paint or a sealer over it.
