Road America or Autobahn?
Either way, count me in! I can't imagine that we wouldn't be able to get 30-40 cars if we start working on it right away. We had >20 Alfas at the Mid-Ohio SVRA "cars of italy" race.
Regarding the track choice, we should consider that Road America was built around the time that the AROC was being formed in Chicago 50 years ago. And if I were towing from California and hadn't raced there, it would be my choice. There is a picture in the 50th anniversary of the track book that shows a G-Production race from the early 60's with at least 5-10 Giulietta's leading the way. Very nostalgic! There are 3 very long straights, but the corners are very important. Turn 14 leads onto the front straight and your exit speed is critical. Turn 1 can almost always be taken 5 mph faster than you think. The Caroussel is almost a skid pad. And the Kink separates the men from the boys (I'm one of the boys). The track also has some of the best spectator viewing anywhere.
I haven't seen an SVRA schedule yet, but this year the Mid-Ohio race was the last week of June. If that is true for 2008, it might be a good opportunity for those with a long tow to race the weekend after the convention too?
