I would strongly recommend this. I have done the same. The LED bulbs are exceptionally bright, and have a very long life. Most importantly though, as Alex said they don't warp your light covers. The LED bulbs cost a few bucks each, but what's a couple of bucks when you're spending 13k on paint?
When you go searching for them, they're festoon bulbs. Bayonet bulbs are the one's in your tail lights. Sorry to correct you Alex . We don't want to lead the lad down the wrong path.
