You know that's probably the way to go, its not cheap but well worth it, my backing section is pretty bad, The "Chrome" is ok, but my lenses are really tired and I don't think that I can do much with them.
FMD, if we were dealing with a series 2 you could use the lights from a sprint or a Gt Veloce as they use real chromed metal surrounds not the crappy plastic stuff we got stuck with on the 1750's. However that would mean you have to modify your car to take the wrong tail lights, which would not be the way to go. Actually I am only bringing this up in case someone with an S2 has the same dilema. I would go with Papajams advice on this one. New tail lights look really nice and go well with fresh paint, old tired lenses and chrome will spoil this effect.
