What is it with you guys in QLD...?
Hardly a "Boy-Racer" converstion..thats pretty radical....
I'm simply changing one Alfa Classic Color for another Alfa Classic Color at present considering - AR-209 "Verde Muschio" which is the color the Giulia Super of that same era were painted...and in my opinion a more palatable color.
Regarding the engine, from an engineering perspective we have our reasons and differences....the pros and cons, I'm simply storing the 1750 to preserve it and putting another Alfa Classic Engine 2litre with some subtle and respectable modifications...considered to be sensible as a daily drive vehicle.
My main aim for this thread was to harness some educated and meaningful suggestions and opinions rather than pitching the the information to try an categorize owners of these types of vehicles. I guess I don't like being put into the suggested radical "Boy Racer" type category of Alfa Owners...because I consider myself to be sensitive and a purist to the historical and classical aspects of this mark...but with a subtle twist for tasteful mods and improvements that I would assume any Alfa Romeo engineer would aspire to work toward.
I have grown up around these cars....my father was a mechanic and cut his trade working with Alfa Romeo engineering "back in the day in the old country" before coming out here...I have driven nothing but Alfa Romeo from the Giulia Super, to the 74 Alfetta 1.8 litre - to the later model 2 litre Alfetta's, to the Alfa 90, to the Alfa 156 and presently to the Alfa 159....I put up with all the abuse from those who didnt understand these cars.....so Ive earned my stripes.....
