Yes but the difference is your car was already a bit of a mongrel when you bought it. The car inquestion is totally original. This is key !!!. If you can't see the importance of keeping it original than there is no hope for you.
At the end of the day if this 1750 is restored well and kept original it will be worth a premium.

Your car might end up looking ok, but no alfa enthusiast worth his salt is going to pay you what you want for your car and all he will see is how much is this going to cost him to bring back to original. I am sorry but the way values are now going on these cars there is no room for Specials or bitsas amongst non racegoing 105's.

Yes we might own these cars, but in reality we are simply the custodian of them for the present. I know that I would not be terribly happy if one of the PO's of my car had made any of the above modifications, but then again I would never by a car like that.
