I prefer the 1750 engine but there is some logic in dropping a 2L in as a daily driver. That way you save the 1750 for the day you decide you want restore it (or sell it). 2L's are a dime a dozen compared to the 1750 and they are much easier (cheaper) to modify. But the hotter the mods the lower the reliability - kinda important when it's a daily driver...
BTW, there has been a lot of cam development on these engines. You might want to engage some of the cam gurus/historians on the forum.
