Scooped you ??? Finally...??Callys tonight-- left my calling card!
Had the LS there, arrived at 8:45 and left at 9:30 ish-- saw your white Spy on the way out
Bummer i didn't have my camera... saw a red GTV 0n 287 crossing over Midway Road and heading towards the Boulder Turnpike... at the Broomfield/Lafayette (Colorado) exit in the rain on Wednesday afternoon around 6:00 pm... June 4th. Nice looking car! Was trying not to get in an accident as I pulled out into traffic in the rain storm so did not make out the year but it had the four headlights up front. I forget what type of front grill and did not get a chance to really notice the size of the rear lights. It sounded good though!
Does seeing two Maserati Quatroporte's in less than a half an hour count. Driving down the I15 south up came a maroon one and when heading back north a silver one was behind me for a few miles. Both were current models.
Well, if they do count, then the red Lamborghini Miura I saw today should count too! It was funny, because I just re-watched the original "The Italian Job" two night ago, and was commenting to a friend about how I couldn't believe they destroyed that orange Miura in the beginning of the movie - an absolute crime!
To get us back on topic: There is a black series 3 spider that's moved into the neighborhood. A few blocks away someone has a white 164, and (I'm assuming it's the same person that owns them both) a red '73-'74 GTV.
Today I also saw for the second time on my way home from work - a red Milano heading on 101 in the opposite direction towards the Bay Bridge...
The dealership is "interesting"...mostly Mini's, one 3.2 Mondial, and a few misc. British. the owner told me that he gets the Mini's from New Zeland (where assumedly they've failed their MOT's, due to the condition of the cars I've seen), and "restores" them for resale.
I test drove a "barn-find" TR6 there awhile ago. IMO, the owner wasn't exactly forthcoming about the obvious issues the car had. I took my Triumph expert buddy Steve along, and Steve reported 3 breakdowns in the one test-drive
Having said the above, it's refreshing to see someone making a go of selling budget classics. I always slow down and gawk
It was quite a surprise to see than many mini's on one lot. Many of the small car lots in LA are out to make a quick buck. I don't think they even know much about cars, other than they buy one cheap and turn a buck quickly. Another interesting place to look for cars is on Garvey Avenue from Alhambra to Rosemead and beyond. The car auction (new and used) is on that street and it spawns lots of small car dealerships. That way, when the junker they buy at the auction breaks down, it's not too far pushing it to the lot. Fun stuff for car guys.
Today driving over the Golden Gate bridge - I passed a caravan of Alfas on their way to a Tiburon car show. A red Sprint Speciale, a white Giulia Ti or Super and a Fiat 500. I wanted to follow along to the show - but I was on my way to work...
Spotted a red 156 westbound on Highway 37 (runs across the top end of San Francisco Bay) about 1:00 PM Sunday, probably headed toward the NASCAR race at Sears Point (now Infineon Raceway), which started at 2:00 PM. Between being stunned by realizing I was looking at a post-normal-import Alfa and a closing speed of about 50 yards a second I didn't think to look for a licence plate to see if it had diplomatic or consular plates.
And today I spotted a red ducktail Spider on Rowland Blvd in Novato (north-west corner of the San Francisco Bay area).
Today I saw the red S3 Spider in Saddlebrooke (north of Tucson) again.......sure wish I knew who owned it. I saw the driver this time, pretty sure I haven't seen him at Tucson Alfa meetings. I took a little "detour" on my way back to the shop, around the back side of the plaza, to get a better look. He was stopped at the drive-through window at the bank, no doubt withdrawing funds for the Alfa.
Totally unexpected, I ended up in Dawson, Yukon (also known as Dawson City, YT, the heart of the Klondike Gold Rush) and just about the first thing I saw turning into Front St. was an Alfa. A few minutes later, I was able to track back and take the pictures below. According to the badges on the car, it is participating in the Panama - Alaska Rally, a 17,800 Km (about 11,000 miles) drive. Interestingly, the car is RHD but I didn't take any pictures of the rally-prepped interior. What a fantastic event!
While testing out some different tires on the Giulietta Sprint Veloce I passed this guy on 580 heading west toward downtown Oakland. Good to have a camera handy. I honked but I don't think he realized I was driving an Alfa. I was going a little faster than is indicated.
Whats with the rear view mirror? It reminds me of Raul Julia "First rule if Italian Driving, what'sa behind doesn't matter!" (or something to that effect)
I was watching the FIM World Super Bike race from San Marino, on Speed Channel, today & saw a whole bunch of new Alfas. The race was sponsored by Alfa, the Safety & Pace cars were Alfas. There were lots of Alfa banners promoting the MiTo...
Gorgeous GTV at the South Pasadena, CA firestation.
That's my daughter on the right, and her BFF on the left- they insisted on being in the photo. We were there for the annual 4th of July pancake breakfast.

Black Milano making right hand turn on Manor Road toward Jericho at 5:15pm. I was waiting at the light to make a left as you drifted within inches of me () in my Nissan.
A green(pino verde?) S2 at Aranda's on Burnet road in Austin at about 1:00 PM today-was out running errands so I couldnt stop.
