Giulia Super GTA

Many years ago, I remember reading an article, about a tuner "restoring" or preparing, a Giulia Super GTA. I've never seen any material on such a car. And I don't mean the factory Giulia Super ti. It had big brakes, suspension mods, big Webers, and all the goodies.

This car was a lightened car, and as I remember, it did not have a back seat, but did have a larger, competition gas tank.

I don't remember the displacement, but the time would be about 1967 to 1968, as I was admiring an early GTV... I don't remeber it being a stepnose car... at a dealer in Boulder, CO. I would drive up to this dealer off of Arapahoe Rd., and lust over a red GTV with a big, white, Alfa snake logo painted diagonally on the hood. This car was a 1600cc machine from my memory... a 1967 model as it was pre-emissions (which started in 1968), and the dealer said there would be no more like the one he had imported.

I badly wanted that car, but it was $1000 over my budget, and bought the first Z28 in Colorado... which did not have the Z28 emblem on the front wings, but a simple "302" for the motor's displacement. My preferences at the time were the "GTV-like" Alfa, a BMW 1600, or the Camaro. My dad made me buy American, even though it was my money. I should have prepared a better argument.

But the car I really, really wanted, was the Giulia Super GTA that some tuner was building. Must have been a Giulia Super that he turned into a GTA. Does anybody remember reading the article I reference above?
