Has auto racing gootten boring?

Years ago, there was innovation which wasn't challenged by constant rules changes. Today, rules are constantly being changed to equalize fields, and it has turned from sports into sports entertainment. nASScrap and the affiliated Grand Am series throw yellow flags just to close up the fields. Indy car is a spec series. The ALMS, ELMS, and the ACO (Le Mans) put fuel capacity restrictions on diesels. There are only a few series in which there is real racing. I just turned off the Indy race because it's a bunch of has-beens racing a bunch of pseudo-celebs in spec cars and I find it really boring.
