Hi Bob,
Jack Beck set up mine. Orion Motorsports near Omaha, Ne. We had the same discussion, and I left it to him. As an ex race car that will see limited track work, Jack felt, too stiff was an invitation to rapid wear and unnecessary stress on the street. They do loosen up with mileage anyhow. Since first installed, I have used Red Line 90 lube as per Jacks suggestion to maintain longivity. Initially the LS was noisier than I expected, but either I am used to it or it has quieted down in about 2,000 miles. I would suggest you talk with Jack. If you can't find a phone#, send me a note and I will send same. Too little LS can = wheelspin in hard corners. Too much, = you will wonder if you need stiffer sway bars front OR rear, & steering effort will increase in even mild turns. You may also hear it whurr, and in extreme cases wonder why it is so hard to launch the car while turning the wheel at stoplights. I previously used a GTA unit, ( this is not a true LS) as it had the same lockup at any speed. It was very difficult on the street, and was the reason I had Jack build me an Alfa LS. Jack can source plates. Gordon Raymond
