I have a list of fuses...bute ther are some fuses that run horizontal to the majorioty in vertical rows...appear to be missing one..also seem to be missing two or three relays as I have taken out the fuse box and checked that there were wires going in to where on the other side relays should be...anyone have a picture of a fuse box with all accounted for fuses...and relays. Thx.

Should say that I found the rubber hose which comes in from the windshield wiper "drain well" was cut open...really bad water damage possible to the fuse box as it sits below that. would the components such as the heater be ok if water hit the fuse box...would not the fuse blink out first???

I have an 1987 Spider Graduate and the speedo had stoped working.
I checked my fuses and noticed that fuse number 7 was blown.
The cigar lighter, and electric fan blower does not work as well, they are all connected to the same fuse.

Has anyone encountered this problem before and which component is the likely culprit.
10a fuse blows as soon as I turn ignition, same with 15.....

Any suggestions to start trouble shooting is welcomed

Thanks

Fast popping fuses usually indicate a short.

A recent thread indicated that fuse #6 controlled the fan and lighter along with the turn signals. (see the 'hazrd lights stopped working' thread)
Also, the FAQ at the top of this section has links to fusbox assignments.

im quite sure it is fuse number 7 that protects my speedo, cigar lighter, back up lights and Fan Motor as they are all out now.
Since the fuse goes right away... i assume there is a short somewhere..

Curious if it could be the fan motor...

Any ideas where to start looking.
Take apart the console and inspect the wire insulation

Cigar lighter would be on the top of my list of suspects. (check that a coin hasn't fallen into the receptacle) Unplug/disable as many of the components in that circuit as you can then see if the fuse stll blows. If not, reconnect one item at a time to find out which thing is causing the problem.

I thought myself that the cigar lighter could be the culprit... i don't smoke but had used it to plug and recharge my cell phone.
Had noticed that did not work properly.
I may have damaged it at that time.

I will take a look tonight and see if i can disconect the wires at the Cigar lighter input.

any other input comments welcomed

Thanks
