I seriously have my doubths if that was the reason to stop with the GT V8 rally project .
It were mainly budgetary reasons and the 400 cars they had to make and sell for homologation in GR.4 .
If there was a conversation between the head of Fiat/Lancia and Chiti and he withdraw the GT V8 from GR.4 in '77 ( I believe that was the last time it was entered in a rally by Autodelta ) why would he enter the even if not more powerfull Alfetta Turbodelta in GR.4 in '79 ?
