So, I found some suitable bits at Home Depot to make my insertion tool. A 3" tube with 3/8" ID and a 3.5" long 3/8" bolt. At the advice of Andrew Garcia I coated the cigarette seals in Ultra Grey Permatex, and in they went without too much fuss. I simply pushed at the bolt with my hand. Before insertion I had measured the depth of the cavity, and it indicated that the seals would be too short. Indeed that turned out to be the case
