Hi subtle,
Is the rear axle a complete, 101 unit with an aftermarket LS center section, or have you used the 105 2 L center? I think I mentioned that Jack Beck converted mine and did a really wonderful job. Although a 105 rear axle can be made to fit, there are many problems, requiring serious fabrication on both the axle housing and chassis.
The 4:11 gears might be better served with the CR trans gearset. I have a 4:56 rear set with the GTA CR trans set, and 1st is still a little "tall" as compared with my earlier 5:12 unit. However the trade off is that the engine no longer runs 4200 RPM @ 60 MPH, as it did in it's racing days!
