I'm sure Rick's comments about the driver are spot on, just like jockeys. A friend keeps talking about lightening his race car and I point out he could easily lose 30lbs of his body weight and save a lot of money.
I just had a look in the Hughes /da Prato book (still the best IMO) and they quote the lightweight at 845kg some 70kg lighter than a standard steel Sprint. It looks like my measured figure of 835 kg is pretty close and with a couple of gallons of fuel it would be 845kg.

All the cars I owned had the steel bumpers. I have no idea how much weight would be saved with the aluminum bumpers. I would guess a "regular" SV would weight just over 900kg..
