Hi Kevin. I just saw this thread for the first time. The dipping idea is a good one BUT you may have an issue now. The channel where the steering box is bolt to, and the damper on the other side, may have a real challenge for you. You see in that channel is aluminum blocks. When dipping, aluminum falls apart. so when you bolt those items back together that wall may collapse. You may have gotten lucky if the "dip" was weak. Good luck. I wish you well on this.
