Interesting process. Suprised they're still allowed to operate in CA, since CA made it almost impossible for that surfboard core manufacturer to operate due to emmision laws. Drove them out of business last year, and surfboard prices went through the roof.
I think chroming companies are facing the same close scrutany out in CA.

I'd be willing to bet that CARB is well aware of this shop, and they do a pretty good job at keeping things clean. Especially knowing what kind of other shops they shut down.
What's funny about it- they claim it's "expensive" to put in the equipment. As opposed to being closed for not. That particular board company could have done things to make their shop in compliance, but they insisted not to.
There are some very environmentally sound strippers, chrome'rs, etc. out there- mostly, they are the ones that are still open.
Support those businesses, they help make it possible to keep old cars on the road! (not just for parts, I mean)
