Ladies and gentlemen, the results from Borrani via Dragone (CT) are in:

a set of 4 genuine Borrani wheels for the 2600 are available as follows:

6 x 16, alloy rims, chromed steel wires (not stainless), with hub adapters
run $ 7,400. They will also do a set of 5 so that there is a matching spare; cost is proportionately higher. I did not inquire about "group-buy" prices (I wouldn't expect much insofar as a discount) pending word from Dayton.

As soon as I hear something from Dayton on their setup I will post the info....if they have something to offer, I would like to solicit input from board readers on the options and which option anyone might be interested in.

to summarize, the options to date appear to be:

Dayton: Steel rims, stainless wires ($ 2,600) drawback: weight

Dayton: Alloy rims, stainless steel wires ( ? ) (info pending)
similar to Borranis; no minimum order

Re-Originals: Alloy rims, stainless spokes; ($ 5,600) requires a minimum commitment i.e. a group buy or waiting list until enough people make firm deposits

Borranis: The original: alloy rims, chromed steel wires ($ 7,400) no minimum order; single sets can be ordered.
