Hi Derek,

this car is recorded to be delivered as a Drophead Coupe, propably built by Castagna on a long chassis.

The first engine #2311229 is now in chassis #2211092.

Simon Moore thinks that Gil Schick replaced the original engine by a Mercury V8 in the early 50ies.
The Mercury V8 was later replaced by a Cadillac V8.
During this period, Schick ordered a special race car body for the car, made by Adolf Deutsch.
The car was seen for the last time in 1958, what happened from then on is not confirmed.

The engine number of the car on the photos could get interesting...
Further where the Le Mans style body comes from.....

One remark of the last eye-witness was, that not much of an Alfa was remaining in the car in 1958

Best regards
Ciao Carlo
