Well, a little more progress. I spot welded in support braces on the
tranny tunnel so that I dont get any wierd resonances when driving.
It's really stout, and one can actually stand on it without caving it in.

I tacked it into the car, and it fits very nice with the motor and tranny in.
I will make sure I can get the motor and tranny out of the car first before
welding the tranny cover and cross brace fully in.
