Reliabilty problems of K-series mainly due to lack of liner protusion at build and unbalanced flywheels. A complete tear down and proper build removes all reliability issues and gets serious power - 230bhp from a 1.8 weighing only 78kgs and over 250 bhp from a 2.0 weighing marginally over that. Of course the next significant engine that has taken over fromt he K-series for the UK small sports car market are Cosworth tuned Ford Duratec's - which I believe are very tastey! - Oh bugger - too many ideas and not enough time or money!
