I bought a scale on E-bay (I love E-bay

), not a comercial grade
one mind you, since those costs hundreds of dollars to weight something
around 400lbs. And for my puposes, I really want to see the difference
in weight between the S2000 and Alfa (motor & tranny).
Drumroll please.... And the weights are:
Alfa 1750 fully dressed minus header & air filter canister : 380 lbs
S2000 same as above but also with ac condensor : 380 + 43 = 423 lbs
So only a difference of about 43 lbs. Max, any need to change spring rates?
I had to use a bath scale under the tranny, because the hanging scale
only goes to 400lbs. Now its been a long long time since I took statics,
and I did not exactly ace that class. But if memory serves me right, my
set up should be ok, since the forces are in the same axis (though opposite
in direction), so they should simply add. Feel free to correct me if I'm
wrong. And as always here are a few pics of the setup..
For you nitpickers, I subtracted 10lbs for the engine tilter (which I weighed
separately) I have on the S2000 motor, thus the bath scale shows about
53 lbs in the pic.
